Unit 5: British houses!!!

90% of the population live in towns. There are a lots of different kinds of houses. Terraced houses are joined together, sometimes in a long row. There are detached houses it means there aren't any other houses joined on to them. lots of people live in flats, especially in big towns and cities. Houses in different part of Britain can look very different. Some houses are very modern and some are hundreds of years old. These are traditional thatched cottages. Thatch is made from reeds and is used for the roof. Cottage is the name for a small house in the country.

Unit 4: Shopping!!!!!!!!

Do you like shopping?

People in Britain really like shopping. In a recent survey 56% of women between 16 and 40 described shopping as their main hobby.
Many towns have a large shop where you can buy a wide variety of items.
People don't only do their shopping in the towns. There are a lot of big out-of-town shopping centers where there are many shops in a large indoor area.
Bluewater near London, it's the largest shopping complex in Europe with over 330 different shops and three big department stores. There are also 40 bars and restaurants and thirteen-screen cinema.
